"Today, I was deeply honored to receive the 2026 Distinguished Service Award from the Rio Hondo Community College District Board of Trustees.

I am sincerely grateful to the Board of Trustees, students, faculty, and staff of Rio Hondo College for this recognition and for their continued commitment to serving our community.

While my name appears on this award, I accept it on behalf of the many dedicated individuals who make our mission possible every day. This recognition represents the collective efforts of our incredible Boys & Girls Club staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, supporters, and community partners who tirelessly invest in helping young people achieve their full potential. Their commitment, sacrifice, and belief in our youth are what truly make this work possible.

This honor carries special meaning for me because I am a proud Rio Hondo College alumnus. Receiving this award from the college where my academic journey began is both humbling and rewarding. Rio Hondo helped shape my path, and it is incredibly meaningful to be recognized by an institution that played such an important role in my life.
